Love at Work

Serving as the Spiritual Care Coordinator at Laguna Honda Hospital since April of 2005, Bob Deel’s work centers on a quote from Mother Theresa - “We can do no great things in this world, only small things with great love.”

Dealing with multiple issues from physical disabilities to dementia, Bob is frequently asked, “How do you find your life in the midst of such overwhelming circumstances?” His answer is, “Look for ways to love each other. Sharing a smile, greeting someone in the hallway, giving away your newspaper, saying “thank you”, are all very simple gestures but when they are done in love they can open the door to true life.”

Bob Deel earned his BA in political science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California. He has worked at LHH for over 20 years.
